Fire Sprinkler Technician - Days
Education Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Specific training courses in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards.
Experience Required:
Five years journeyman level experience in the mechanical trade, to include three years experience with fire alarm or sprinkler systems.
Preferred: Five years experience with sprinkler systems.
Licensure/Certification Required:
Class A, B or C valid Texas driver's license depending on the type and weight of vehicle to be operated and number of passengers to be carried and eligible to drive State and institutional vehicles.
Preferred:
- National Institute of Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Certifications
- Sprinkler System General license (RME-G) by the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office
- Sprinkler System General Inspector (RME-GI) by the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office
