Ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical systems, preferably HVAC equipment; experience working with rotating equipment (fans, pumps); experience repairing mechanical equipment such as exhaust fans and general AC equipment.

The primary purpose of a Maintenance Technician is to provide demonstrated sub journeyman-level work in a designated craft(s). Impacts routine maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment, systems, buildings and grounds.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under direct supervision performs routine and preventative maintenance on various equipment, buildings and utility systems using one or more craft trade skills. Maintains records of materials, jobs, and other pertinent information.
 
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Maintain Facility Appearance, Functionality and Safety •Replace filters and clean coils within assigned AHU’s, Fan coils
•Perform general repair work on HVAC equipment.  Assist HVAC Mechanics on more complex repair jobs. 
•Respond to, (client critical and facility), equipment alarms, code reds, etc.
•Perform inspections and do PM’s on exhaust fans and other HVAC assets assigned. 
•Cleans assigned areas.
 
Reduce Outside Contractor Costs  •Assist vendors with contracted HVAC repairs.  Notifies proper personnel about smoke detectors.
•Performs assigned work orders relevant to the HVAC and general maintenance team.
•Helps with installations and repairs made to HVAC and associated equipment. 
 
Maintain an Efficient Response to Work Orders and Reduce/Balance Workload for Other Shops   •Performs general PM’s that do not require specific certification or licensure.  Supports inspection program on vehicles and other assigned assets.  Triages customer work requests and creates detailed work orders per departmental standards. 
•Provides back-up support for the other crafts. 
 
Increase Customer Focus and Satisfaction   •Quickly responds to Client “Dispatch” work order requests for a variety of tasks.
•Respond to customer service requests.  Talk to Customers and keep them informed on job status.
•Requisition parts and materials needed to conduct the daily activities using the department’s CMMS program. 
•Completes all required data entry of work details – action taken, time used, parts used, etc.
 
Other duties as assigned
 

Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Two years experience in one or more crafts (i.e. - plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, instrumentation) 

Preferred: Ability to drive a State of Texas vehicle with a valid Driver’s license
