Patient Care Technician - Telemetry / Thoracic / Cardiovascular Surgery Unit

Function Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.

Scope Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

Essential Job Functions Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs.  Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs.  Updates and retrieves patient information.  Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner.  Acts as part of an assigned care team.

Received Directly from a registered nurse.

REQUIREMENTS

Education Required High school diploma or equivalent.

Education Preferred College hours in nursing or healthcare related field.

Experience Required Three years of relevant work experience. May substitute additional education for required experience a one to one basis. 

Experience Preferred Experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant

Other Required Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
