The mission of The University of Texas M. D. The primary purpose of the Senior Applications Systems Analyst position is to be responsible for the design, development and implementation of computer applications and systems used for supporting the business needs of Education & Training.  These systems are critical in supporting divisional operations, transformation and institutional/divisional regulatory requirements.

Cloud/Application Solution Architect  

-Architects and designs technical architectures of varying complexity, technologies, and size. Leverages industry and organizational standards, patterns and best practices to develop architectures that fulfill business strategies.

-As the owner of the architecture, orchestrates the implementation of proposed solutions on projects, leveraging the appropriate IT service providers in the fulfillment of the architecture.

-Partners with business liaison and stakeholders to confirm understanding of business drivers and strategy, and proposes the appropriate technical options to meet these needs.

-Effectively leverages appropriate design tradeoffs and cost/benefit analysis during this process.

-Establishes and fosters strong relationships with a broad audience of customers, service providers, technical peers and management to win trust in technical advice and leadership

-Provides mentorship to other development staff, as needed.

-Participates in pursuing standards, patterns, and best practices for technology design and delivery

-Remains current on emerging technologies and conducts independent research to support business needs and requirements.

-Pursue Operational Excellence in all endeavors, striving on a routine basis to identify and implement continuous process improvements.

Cloud/Web/Application Developer  

-Develop, maintain and integrate applications and systems that support business operations and operational process efficiencies.

Collaborate with internal teams to conduct requirements analysis ad design software 

Develop and maintain secure, scalable code using .NET programming languages

Test and deploy applications and systems

Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)

Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support

-Design, develop, unit test and debug applications and assist with issues.

-Understand the business, business objectives and current business challenges within your supported business area.

-Make sure appropriate security and privacy measures are implemented on technology solutions to protect institutional data from intentional or accidental misuse.

Project Manager   

-Partners with Business, IS project manager and other teams and manages relationships

-Develops project plans and manages operational projects, periodic releases. Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects

-Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques

-Estimates resources, dependencies and communication requirements and implements them

-Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques 

-Reports and escalates to management as needed

Data Analyst   

-Partners with Business Liaison to understand the requirements of customers and data architects 

-Interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques and provides ongoing support for custom/canned/self-service reports & dashboards

-Perform data quality/profiling operations

-Presenting data in Excel spreadsheets after formatting as needed


Required: Bachelor's degree. 

Preferred: Master's level degree.


Required: Five years experience in domain, analysis, design, project management, Epic software or programming. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred: Five years in requirements analysis, application design, development, database programming, reports development, cloud solution development, project management. Prior experience with ASP.NET. Experience with MVC programming highly preferred.
