Serving as one of the first points of contact, Ambassadors help create a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for patients and families navigating complex cancer care.
As an Ambassador, you will interact directly with patients, caregivers, and visitors—many of whom are facing challenging and emotional circumstances. This role requires a high level of customer service experience, empathy, and professionalism, along with the ability to remain calm, compassionate, and supportive while working closely with cancer patients and their families.
In this position, you will greet and screen patients and visitors, provide clear and accurate directions and information across the hospital campus, and serve as a key resource for navigating services and locations. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, often balancing multiple responsibilities such as screening, front desk support, and information services, while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
You will also serve as a liaison between patients, caregivers, and various departments, assisting with problem resolution and ensuring a seamless experience. This includes supporting front desk operations, coordinating with the Rotary House and other services, registering patients for laboratory services, and documenting interactions or concerns appropriately. Your ability to anticipate needs, communicate clearly, and provide timely follow-up is essential to maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction.
Administrative responsibilities include responding to inquiries, addressing concerns or complaints with discretion and confidentiality, and collaborating with Patient Advocates and other departments to ensure timely resolution. You will play an important role in supporting institutional patient satisfaction initiatives by delivering service that is courteous, efficient, and patient-centered.
Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to engage with a variety of populations while demonstrating empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity. Comfort working in a healthcare setting—particularly with oncology patients—is essential, as is the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and care.
