The Application Systems Analyst plays a critical role within the Enterprise Development & Integration Department, supporting the delivery of high‑quality, reliable software solutions across complex enterprise systems. This department partners closely with clinical, administrative, and technical stakeholders to ensure applications meet business needs, regulatory standards, and operational goals through disciplined analysis, testing, and support.
The Application Systems Analyst, Enterprise Development & Integration contributes to this mission by ensuring enterprise applications are stable, compliant, and fit for purpose, enabling teams across the organization to focus on advancing patient care and innovation. The Application Systems Analyst, Enterprise Development & Integration collaborates with internal teams, vendors, and users to deliver dependable technology solutions that support MD Anderson’s enterprise ecosystem.
The ideal candidate for the Application Systems Analyst, Enterprise Development & Integration role brings a strong background in quality assurance and systems analysis, with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, deep experience in enterprise application environments, hands‑on and leadership‑level automation expertise, and a demonstrated ability to operate effectively in regulated healthcare settings while collaborating across business, development, and QA teams.
Minimum $88,000 – Midpoint $110,000 – Maximum $132,000, Work Location: Hybrid Onsite/Remote

Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Testing
• Validate software quality through comprehensive manual and automated testing activities.
• Design, execute, and maintain test strategies that align with business and technical requirements.
• Ensure ownership of quality across the full software development life cycle, particularly in Agile environments.
• Analyze defects, assess risk, and support data‑driven release readiness decisions.
 

Requirements Analysis & Collaboration
• Analyze and evaluate requirements for implementation, modification, or upgrade of software products and in‑house applications.
• Act as a liaison between business partners, development teams, QA resources, and vendors to translate requirements into effective test coverage.
• Consult with departmental management, coworkers, users, Computing Resources, Information Services personnel, and vendors to resolve issues efficiently.
 

Test Case & Automation Management
• Consult with user partners on business specifications and system design.
• Design new systems or enhancements to existing systems and programs.
• Write, maintain, and optimize test cases for new development and system modifications.
• Lead and support automation efforts to increase coverage and reduce regression cycle time using tools such as UFT, Selenium, and API testing tools.
 

Documentation & Compliance
• Create and maintain production documentation for assigned systems.
• Develop and update recovery instructions and production turnover documents.
• Support compliance, audit readiness, and documentation standards in regulated healthcare environments.
 

Application Support
• Provide ongoing support for applications assigned by the manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support enterprise application stability and performance.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree. 

Required Experience: Two years experience in Epic software, domain, analysis, design, project management, or programming. May substitute require education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. 

Preferred Experience/Skills: Hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks, strong with tools like UFT, Selenium, API testing tools (Postman), ability to increase automation coverage and reduce regression cycle time, experience embedding QA into Agile testing, strong understanding of regression optimization, and rapid release cycles, ability to ensure stable, reliable automated test suits, familiar with systems like Epic, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Understanding compliance, validation, and audit requirements.
