Assistant Professor - Genitourinary Medical Oncology
The Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology invites applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA) position. Experience in medical oncology and career interest in genitourinary cancers is required. This faculty position will report to the chair of the Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology.
It is anticipated that candidates will actively engage in clinical, translational or laboratory research and scholarly activities. Candidates should demonstrate potential for innovative research that is competitive for peer-reviewed funding, publication of high-impact original findings, and a collaborative mindset. This position requires the ability to synthesize information, formulate creative approaches for investigative inquiry pertaining to genitourinary medical oncology, and function in a team environment to provide research driven patient care.
In addition, the successful candidate will be able to:
- Provide a balanced and integrated educational program in Genitourinary Medical Oncology for medical fellows and residents who rotate through the department. Attend and participate in division/department teaching and continuing education.
- Represent the Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology in local, regional, state, and national matters pertaining to the field of Genitourinary Medicine.
- Practice clinical medicine in an exemplary manner in standards set forth by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners and the American College of Physicians, properly balanced with other academic activities. Must be capable of providing complete and thorough history and physical patient examinations and be able to perform invasive procedures as dictated by the physician's subspecialty.
- Develop and maintain a clinical consultative practice for patients referred to MD Anderson. Provide physician staffing for the Genitourinary Medical Oncology Center, the Genitourinary Medical Oncology Inpatient Service, and Houston Area Locations (HALs).
- Keep abreast of current approaches in the management of patients through attendance at continuing education conferences in the specialty. Provide a role model as a practitioner for faculty, fellows, residents and students. Provide peer review for assessing the clinical practice of faculty within the department.
Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. and should be board-certified or board-eligible and be eligible for medical licensure in Texas. Refer to the Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology webpage for additional information about the department and its programs.

This position has a target base salary of $ 287,044 to $ 367,301 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.
