Assistant Professor, Research Faculty Appointment (RFA) - Infectious Dis & Infection Control
KEY FUNCTIONS:
Research – 85%
- Participate in scientific meetings, departmental seminars, and other research related activities as necessary to present results of experiment and make ready results for publications of manuscript/ abstract. In addition, must prepare publication in peer review scientific journals.
- Prepare and submit applications for research funding to a wide variety of funding agencies.
- Requires maintaining meticulous record od experimental data and protocols. We will use computer analysis to provide slides and graphs of data.
- Maintain accurate protocols of experiments performed, including any modifications, so they are reproducible by other investigators.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of fundamental concepts by either review of literature, attendance at seminars/meetings and/ or course work. Contribute to designated projects by proposing potential investigatory directions and alternative interpretations of data.
Education/ Teaching – 10%
· Participates in training of graduate students and post-doctoral research fellows.
· Supervise and train assigned laboratory personnel in proper research procedures, data analysis, and data compilation.
Administrative – 5%
· Serve on institutional committees as requested by Professor. Visually review all documents pertaining to committee functions
· Represent the Department by participating or representing at local, regional, state and national meetings in the field of Infectious Diseases.
Work Location: Onsite
This position has a target base salary of $203,842 to $347,636 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
Required: PhD in a basic science-related field, such as biochemistry, microbiology, or other related area.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: At least two (2) years as a postdoctoral fellow required or equivalent time as a basic scientist.
