REQUIREMENTS

 

Education
Required: PhD, MD or equivalent degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Pharmacology or related field.

 

 

Experience
Required: 9 years of relevant research and management experience.

Preferred: 7 years of relevant research and management experience beyond post-doctoral research maintaining hands-on experience.


•    Proficiency and hands-on experience in vivo models of oncology (solid and liquid tumors), and immuno-oncology.
•    Strong history of leading and providing in vivo pharmacology support to drug discovery teams to position program in distinct patient populations.
•    Broad experience with in vivo tumor models and proficiency in various techniques including tumor implantation and measurement, administration of therapeutics, bleeding, euthanasia, tumor dissection, processing, and preservation.
•    Ability to write detailed in vivo protocols and reports and direct the work of in vivo scientists.
•    Thorough understanding of pharmacological audit trail and dose/PK/PD/efficacy relationships.
•    Experienced manager of people and projects including demonstrated ability to grow junior scientists and delegate key projects appropriately. Demonstrated ability to effectively train, manage and mentor junior scientists.
•    Experience with working with CROs to augment internal capabilities.
•    Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, as well as being able to see big picture.
•    Evidence of independent thinking and leadership skills are vital. Ability to work well under pressure and drive projects that impact critical timelines is essential
•    Leader and a team player with a great sense of urgency and accountability.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence teams to get things done without formal authority. 
•    Proven ability to build productive internal/external working relationships with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders, and ability to influence to ensure team performance.
•    Proven track record of good decision making and exercising sound judgment.
•    Self-directed, process oriented and able to work well in a team environment.
