This position will be located at our West Houston location in Katy, Tx.

The ideal candidate will have experience with patient registration, uploading medical records, and documenting patient communication. Additionally, proficiency with Epic is essential.

Hourly Breakdown of salary range: Minimum $19.23 - Midpoint $24.03 - Maximum $28.84

Key Responsibilities
Patient Registration and Coordination

  • Gather and verify complete patient demographic and financial information to ensure smooth registration and financial screening processes.
  • Communicate cost estimates, financial assistance options, and other relevant details to patients, helping them navigate their care with confidence.
  • Ensure compliance with all required documentation, forms, and consents to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

Patient Access and Communication

  • Serve as a primary contact for new patients, referral sources, and providers, offering prompt, professional, and compassionate communication both by phone and in person.
  • Apply medical acceptance and scheduling criteria to ensure efficient clinic operations and timely access to care.
  • Support departmental initiatives to improve patient access and workflow efficiency through new tools, processes, and technologies.
  • Accurately document all patient interactions, payor communications, and treatment team updates while maintaining attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Deliver outstanding service by consistently meeting or exceeding departmental metrics for response time, service quality, and patient satisfaction.
  • Use active listening and empathy to address patient concerns and coordinate effectively across teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Ensure warm transfers and positive communication in every interaction—reflecting MD Anderson’s commitment to compassionate care.

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Required: Two years experience in healthcare, insurance, or related field.

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
