Autopsy & Non-Tech Tissue Assistant

The ideal candidate will have autopsy experience or funeral home morgue experience 

The hours are Mon - Fri 8am-5pm

KEY FUNCTIONS 

· Receives cadavers brought to the autopsy room and removes any anatomical part as directed being careful to keep tissue damage to a minimum.

· Assists, under the direction of the Chief of Surgical Pathology or his/her designee, in the appropriate and orderly storage and ready retrieval of tissue from the autopsy and diagnostic units of the Department of Pathology. Provides permanent retention of specimens by properly preserving and storing them.

· Retrieves and stores on a periodic or as needed basis, tissues (as defined above) from on-site storage areas. Assists staff in discarding specimens and in maintaining adequate supplies of specimens.

· Maintains the cleanliness of operation table and autopsy room.

· Under the direction of Laboratory Manager, assures that the Autopsy section complies with safety and regulatory guidelines

· Other duties as required
