The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) team at MD Anderson Cancer Center designs and evaluates health and safety programs that will maintain and enhance health, improve safety and increase productivity. The OHS team is multidisciplinary, including ergonomists, certified industrial hygienists, certified safety specialists, mold consultants and asbestos project managers. We provide regulatory interpretations, technical assistance and recommendations to occupational health and safety programs. We display our core values by measuring, monitoring and eliminating workplace hazards.

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise all operations of receiving, storing, and issuing of supplies in a widely diversified warehouse. The Campus Services Technician impacts the successful operation of a warehouse by ensuring that prescribed procedures for the receipt and disbursement of supplies are followed completely in all transactions.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and experienced in warehouse operations. They know how to receive, store, and issue supplies accurately using inventory systems like CMMS. They work well with others, communicate clearly, and solve problems quickly. They keep the warehouse clean, safe, and efficient, and they’re comfortable using mobile devices to track inventory. This person is customer-focused, pays attention to detail, and supports MD Anderson’s mission of safety and health.

Shift: Monday -Friday flexible start and end time 6:00 AM - 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM -3:30 PM

Salary Range: Minimum $41,000.00 - Midpoint $51,000.00 - Maximum $61,000.00

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive and process customer request in current CMMS • Monitor FM Portal and process stock issues and special orders into material request / purchase requisitions within current CMMS according to prescribed procedures. • Review CMMS purchase requisitions for accuracy, completeness and ability to process. • Review special orders and validate if material is a stocked item. Collaborate with requestors to leverage available stock when possible.  Assist customers with retrieving quotes and identifying alternate vendors and products as needed. File documentation according to prescribed procedures.

 

Receiving, inspection, and storage of all material received at the warehouse • Participate in all aspects of receiving and follows prescribed procedures for all transactions to ensure orderly and efficient flow within the Warehouse, and obtains double check from teammate for bulk material deliveries. • Pull bill of lading / packing slip and inspects delivery for damage, completeness, and conformity with original order. Works with Warehouse procurement team to resolve discrepancies. • Receive and offloads incoming material manually, or by material handling equipment. • Receive orders in current CMMS system and files all documentation accordingly. • Apply CMMS barcode labels, and shelves / organizes received items in their CMMS designated location within the warehouse. For overflow inventory, new location(s) will be identified, material physically moved to, location(s) added within CMMS stock record, and quantity transferred within CMMS accordingly. • A requirement of this position is to be competent and expected to enter data into mobile devices while working away from your workstation.

 

Pulling, packing, and issuance of all outgoing material at the warehouse • Participate in all aspects of material order pulling, kitting, packing, and issuing in accordance to prescribed procedures for all transactions to ensure orderly and efficient flow within the Warehouse. • Run order fulfillment query daily to retrieve and review orders ready to issue (complete / partial) within CMMS. Print and apply tracking labels to material request / pick tickets ready to be pulled / kitted. • Pull, inspect, kit, and package material from inventory according to material request / pick tickets. Inspect order for completeness and obtains double check from teammate. Apply identification markings, such as order numbers and locations, to pallets containing more than one material request / pick ticker in order for end users to easily identify and separate their orders. • Review special order material received for order completeness obtains double check from teammate. Applies appropriate documentation, tracking label, and location for package preparation and delivery. • Stage completed material request in appropriate shipping lane / staging area. • Issue material in current CMMS system and files documentation accordingly. • Make deliveries utilizing tracking software on an as needed basis.

 

Inventory Support and Customer Service • Primary customer point of contact for all matters regarding material request and stocked inventory. • Track down material request that did not arrive or were miss dropped. • Respond to customers inquiries regarding ETAs. Includes following up with Warehouse Procurement Coordinators or vendors directly on status of POs and communicates to customers. Documents notes regarding ETA within current CMMS. • Query unfulfilled material requests on a daily basis and follows up with Warehouse Procurement Coordinators or with vendors directly regarding ETAs. Document notes within current CMMS. Follow-up with Warehouse Procurement Coordinators to resolve issues with vendors. • Assist Technicians and Work Control with setting-up correct inventory within current CMMS according to material specification. • Assist customers with initiating the return process. • Perform periodic inventory cycle counts to match and maintain physical stock levels according to CMMS system. • Review inventory and make order point and max-on hand recommendations based on usage in order to minimize stock outs. • Assist with tracking and the review of non-stock material usage and collaborates with customers and Warehouse Procurement team to determine if material needs to be added to inventory. • Assist in determining what items will be deleted or added from stock as requested by mission area Work Control. • Create new stock records and deactivate existing ones as needed in current CMMS. • Participate in all aspects of warehouse cleaning on an as needed basis. Routinely inspect warehouse space to insure debris is free from floor and shelving, and ensure warehouse space is organized in an efficient manner. • Maintain warehouse equipment in a satisfactory manner. Report warehouse equipment maintenance and repair needs to Facility Services Supervisor or Facility Manager.

 

Satellite Stockroom Inventory Issuance, Replenishment, and Space Management • Maintain Satellite Stockroom inventory levels and material issuance according to prescribed procedures. •Create material requested from stockroom logs on a daily basis, and issue material in current CMMS. •Monitor order point review in current CMMS on a daily basis and create transfer requested based on material availability. •Pull material to be transferred and apply barcode labels accordingly. Deliver and replenish inventory. •File all documentation accordingly. •Maintain stockroom cleanliness and organization.

EDUCATION

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required: 2 years Receiving, storing and handling goods and equipment.
