Case Manager Navigator
The Case Manager Navigator at MD Anderson Cancer Center integrates and coordinates utilization management concepts, care facilitation, and discharge planning functions. This role directly impacts patient care, satisfaction, and institutional costs by ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes across the continuum of care.
The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), hold a current RN license in the State of Texas, and have five years of professional nursing experience. One year of experience as an oncology nurse or case manager can reduce the requirement to four years. Candidates may substitute the required degree with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and seven years of professional nursing, case management, or navigation experience. The candidate must also maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
The candidate must be available to work four 10-hour shifts each week, with every weekend required and the other two shifts flexible.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $101,000 | Midpoint $126,500 | Maximum $152,000

Essential Job Functions:
• Assess individual patient needs based on practice models for high-risk or complex care issues
• Coordinate, facilitate, and monitor care for patients throughout the continuum to ensure optimal clinical, functional, social, cognitive, satisfaction, and financial outcomes
• Oversee discharge planning and facilitate transitions to community settings
• Intervene, advocate, and facilitate care changes on the patient’s behalf
• Act as a liaison for multidisciplinary teams, external physicians, payors, and community agencies
• Identify and implement strategies to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance patient care and business outcomes
• Other duties as assigned
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
Experience Required: Five years professional nursing experience; one year of oncology or case management experience may reduce requirement to four years
Licensure/Certification Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN). American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
Licensure/Certification Preferred: Certification as a Case Manager
