The ideal candidate will have a valid Texas driver’s license and at least one year of food service or catering experience.
 

The Catering Assistant position at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides service in the preparation, set-up and clean-up of catered events.

 This role will impact food service or production in the institution and will work directly with Managers, Assistant Managers, Supervisors and Sous Chefs.
 

Catering at Anderson has a wide variety of catering and coffee services available and is here to provide outstanding customer service and delicious food. Our expansive, fresh and on-trend menu items are prepared onsite daily and can be customized to accommodate the needs of any occasion or event.  From delicious full-services meals, box lunches, coffee service or anything in-between, our catering team is ready to help.
 

The ideal candidate will have a valid Texas driver’s license and at least one year of food service or catering experience.

Schedule: 
The hours for this position will vary, with rotating weekends and holidays.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

Customer Service:
Assists customers and dispenses products by following established policies and procedures.  Solicits feedback from customers, whenever possible, and reports to supervisor.

Inventory Management:
Delivers/stores equipment, groceries and supplies as directed.  Checks and replenishes items needed for Catering.  Must be able to follow both written and oral instructions and reconcile order sheets with products received.

Productivity:
Sets up assigned work area and monitors activities as necessary.  Sets up work area, when applicable, for the next day’s activities.  Sets up work area and serves all customers of Catering.

EDUCATION:
Preferred:  High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
Required:  One year of food service or catering experience

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Required:  Valid Class A, B or C Texas driver's license and eligible to drive State and institutional vehicles.  Must obtain a current Texas Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of entry into job.

OTHER:
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
