Reporting to the top leaders, the Chief Patient Officer works in a dyad partnership with the VP, Patient Experience to co-lead the Division of Patient Experience to develop and implement strategic initiatives and lead assigned operational areas to improve the patient experience across MD Anderson. 

The CXO will serve as the Medical Director for Patient Advocacy and Patient Affairs.   The CXO will take the culture of clinical excellence and continue to expand it into the world of patient & family centered care by transforming the concepts of service excellence, patient and provider experience, patient advocacy, and patient relations into actionable behaviors and sustainable processes.   The dyad partnership will develop strategies and tactics with approval of senior leadership necessary to create and sustain a culture of patient centered care at MD Anderson.

Requirements

  • MD/DO with applicable board certification.
  • Academic rank of associate professor or professor
  • 10 years’ experience in a leadership role within a complex academic healthcare environment.
  • Strong operational and financial acumen with the ability to lead and partner around a vision for outstanding healthcare delivery.
  • Proven track record of initiating change and innovation
  • Prefer Master’s Degrees in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration
  • Demonstrated experience with Patient Experience initiatives.

CLIINICAL/ADMINISTRATIVE EFFORT ALLOCATION:

    • 30 % Clinical Practice
    • 65 % Administrative
    • 5 % Research and Education
