Clinical Nurse, Outpatient - Radiation Oncology
EDUCATION
Required: Graduation
from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Preferred: Bachelors
of Science in Nursing.
EXPERIENCE
Required: None.
Preferred: Two years of previous or recent oncology.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life
Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced
Life Support) certification as required by patient care area. Certification in oncology or specialty practice area.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Patient care environment.
All clinical nurses with less than
one year registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate
in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program. Foreign trained nurses who have not
practiced nursing as an RN in the United States for at least one year will also
be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
