Mission Statement

Summary

The primary purpose of the Contract Manager position is to manage end-to-end contracting process including sourcing, negotiations, contract management, contract administration and supplier relationship management functions. Impacts all UT system institutions with respect to procurement of supplies, equipment, and services.


 Key Functions

 


1.  Leads RFx development, supplier selection, contract negotiations, contract implementation, contract administration and supplier relationship management programs.


2.  Collaborates with member institutions, suppliers, group purchasing organizations, other internal stakeholders and external organizations to assess aggregation opportunities and emerging trends.


3.  Develops and review sourcing/procurement polices/procedures and ensures continued compliance with all regulatory requirements, procurement guidelines, policies and procedures both internally at MD Anderson and externally to UT System and its member institutions.


4.   Manages the selection, performance and evaluation of direct reports


5.   Other duties as assigned.




REQUIREMENTS


Experience   

Required: Five (5) years of progressive managerial experience in contracting and materials management.

Preferred:  Seven (7) years of progressive managerial experience within the health care industry with at least three years in leading contracting and materials management teams.


Education     


Required: Bachelor's degree in science, healthcare, or business related field.      

Preferred: Advanced degree in business, management, hospital administration, or related field.
