The Database Coordinator will coordinates the development, utilization and maintenance of data in accordance with the needs and objectives of the department's user and clinical research studies. 

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in database development and management, with proficiency in SQL for querying and maintaining relational databases. Additionally, the candidate should have hands-on experience with data integration and/or data migration, ensuring seamless transfer and consolidation of data across platforms and systems.

Manages, monitors, and maintains database systems:  
* Coordinates the day-to-day operation and use of all clinical research databases;
* Analyzes, isolates and resolves needs affecting the database, or in part, evaluate existing applications and suggest improvements;
* Adapts, implements, and maintains acquired database software;
* In coordination with the Data Manager, adapts, implements, and maintains database security measures;
* Manages, monitors, and maintains database systems, ensuring high availability and performance, includes regular tuning and troubleshooting issues (e.g. SQL Server Database(s), MS Access Database(s), REDCap);
* Prepares and executes data migration into the SQL Server Database; 
* Develops, prepares, and executes data import/export processes;
* Integrates databases with reporting software including API connections or on-premise gateways; 
* Assists with the creation and implementation of our department’s data repositories within the SQL Server;
* In coordination with the Data Manager and the Data Team, develop pathways for data entry and quality review;
* Adheres and acts in accordance to all data management policies, regulations and requirements for data collection, data sharing, data storage, and data archival practices.
   
Generates complex Queries, Reports, and performs Data Integrity:  
* Integrates databases with reporting software including API connections or on-premise gateways;
* In collaboration with the Data Team and clinical research team, generates complex SQL queries for reporting;
* Works in collaboration with the Data Analysts to develop and implement robust reporting for Clinical Research studies utilizing a various assortment of applications (Power BI, Tableau, etc.);
* Performs quality assurance tasks in collaboration with the Data Team and Clinical Research Team on abstracted and entered data;
* In collaboration with the Data Team, maintains integrity of data collected and identify missing values as needed;
* Enters information into coded format as required as needed;
* Populates the clinical database(s) and reports information and the appropriate national and/or international registries;
* Stays up-to-date with all data management policies, regulations and requirements for data collection, data sharing and dissemination, data storage, and data archival practices;

Collaborates with cross-functional teams and Special Projects:   
* Serves as liaison with developers and other stakeholders;
* Conducts regular data audits to ensure data integrity and implement necessary corrective measures;
* Serves as an honest broker and key holder to de-identified datasets along with safeguarding practices for dissemination and data storage;
* Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide actionable insights;
* Collaborates with data analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to define data requirements and effectively manage data flows;
* Documents database schemas, processes, and procedures for data management;
* Documents de-identification procedures and data management plans;
* In collaboration with the Data Manager, develops and implements ERDs, User guidelines, Data Flow diagrams, and other associated tools for documenting processes;
* Assists the data manager with database security roles and rights;
* Assist in establishing and maintaining guidelines/SOPs for obtaining and organizing clinical trial data within given deadlines;

Other Duties as Assigned

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's Degree In a related field.
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, biostatistics, data management or related field. 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Three years Business management systems, including one year as an experienced programmer and one year working with a database software system. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred: Data Management. Database Development and Management. Experience using SQL and Data Integration and/or Data Migration.
