Detective University Police

Education Required: In accordance with current levels of education for commissioned police officers of the University of Texas System as adopted by the Board of Regents.

Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Level Degree

Experience Required: Three years’ experience as a commissioned peace officer, with one as an investigator or detective.

Preferred Experience: Experience and expertise in financial, fraud and computer related crime investigations.

Certification: All of the following: Commissioned/licensed peace officer for the State of Texas within 180 days of entry into job; Valid Class C Texas driver’s license.

Preferred Certification: Advanced certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education.
