Diagnostic Imaging Services Coordinator
MD Anderson’s Diagnostic Imaging division is one of the largest and most advanced imaging programs in the world focused exclusively on cancer. The department performs more than one million imaging exams each year, supporting diagnosis, treatment planning, research, and ongoing patient care. With subspecialized radiologists, cutting edge technologies, and dedicated imaging teams, Diagnostic Imaging plays a vital role across nearly every clinical pathway at MD Anderson.
The division includes advanced imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, PET/CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Breast Imaging, and Interventional Radiology. Diagnostic Imaging serves patients across multiple Houston area locations, including the Texas Medical Center, League City, Sugar Land, West Houston, and The Woodlands. The team is deeply integrated into multidisciplinary cancer care, enabling precision medicine, clinical trials, and innovative treatment approaches.
MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Services Coordinator to support this high volume, fast paced clinical division. This role ensures seamless patient scheduling, workflow coordination, and communication between providers, imaging teams, and patients.
As part of a department committed to excellence in patient care, research innovation, and education, you will help maintain MD Anderson’s high service standards while supporting operational efficiency across multiple imaging sites. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will have 4 years of relevant work experience, including two years in a healthcare or medical environment, or 2 years in a healthcare setting
Shift / Hours/location: The shift for this position will be Monday – Friday / 8:30am – 5pm

Key Responsibilities
Procedural Scheduling & Workflow Coordination
• Accurately schedule imaging procedures across multiple modalities
• Provide clear preparation and procedural instructions
• Use knowledge of imaging protocols to optimize scheduling
• Maintain scheduling templates and support workflow updates
• Ensure accurate communication of schedules across sites
• Improve daily operational processes and reduce scheduling errors
Patient Care Coordination & Communication
• Assist with patient financial inquiries or route appropriately
• Support unread exam workflows
• Serve as a liaison for referring providers, radiologists, and staff
• Ensure accuracy of patient documentation
• Communicate effectively during routine and urgent situations
Customer Service & Operational Support
• Answer calls professionally and within department standards
• Provide courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff
• Offer guidance or training to internal and external staff
• Maintain knowledge of policies and contribute to a safe environment
• Participate in meetings, required trainings, and continuous education
• Use RIS, status boards, and other software to support operations
• Manage office and medical supply needs
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION
• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Business Administration
WORK EXPERIENCE
• Required: 4 years relevant work experience to include two years in a healthcare or medical environment or 2 years in a health care setting with preferred education and experience in oncology
• May substitute additional education for required experience on a one to one basis
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources
