EHR System Analyst - Cadence

As an EHR System Analyst within our Clinical Access Revenue System (CARS) team, you will help build and support the digital systems that directly impact patient access, revenue integrity, and the overall patient experience. You’ll serve as the critical link between end users, Epic, and the broader EHR team—ensuring that clinicians and staff have the tools they need to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality care.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Standards & Testing
- Obtain Epic certification within 180 days of hire; maintain required certifications at all times.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and build/testing standards (SME or governance signoff).
- Follow MD Anderson IS best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare required documentation for system enhancements or new technology implementations.
- Adhere to all documented change control processes.
- Perform quality control and testing to ensure technical soundness of solutions.
Build, Content Management & System Configuration
- Implement and may prioritize system changes or projects; communicate proactively with end users.
- Maintain and troubleshoot EHR build.
- Modify Epic content as directed by the project team.
- Participate in implementation and optimization efforts; obtain governing body approval as required.
- Uphold patient safety standards during configuration and enhancement analysis.
- Perform medium‑risk or complex system maintenance activities.
- Complete routine revisions to meet build metrics.
- Provide functional expertise and understanding of clinical workflows to support design and optimization.
- Provide technical expertise in support of system development and configuration.
Support
- Provide customer support and resolve problems efficiently.
- Respond to requests in a timely manner and communicate expectations regarding procedures, timelines, and deliverables.
- Participate in after‑hours application support and downtime processes.
- Develop technical and workflow knowledge for assigned applications to improve troubleshooting.
- Work with Epic technical support to facilitate issue resolution.
Liaison, Networking & Business Knowledge
- Gather information related to potential workflow improvements or system enhancements.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and OneIS partners.
- Collaborate with senior analysts to deepen technical and business workflow understanding.
- Attend meetings, participate in workgroups, and serve on committees as needed.

EDUCATION
- Required: Bachelor's Degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: 2 years Clinical, relevant healthcare information technology, or relevant business experience.
- May substitute required education with years of related experience on a one to one basis.
- Preferred: Healthcare experience needed, Cadence certified, cadence experience, SER (Schedule Epic Resource) knowledge, template knowledge to include the infusion template generator, experience with ambulatory, and mychart, self scheduling (patient),
- Prefer a local candidate in the Houston surrounding area.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Required: EPIC - EPIC Certification within 180 Days
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
