Experienced Clinical Nurse - Dialysis - Evening/Nights

· Specialty in Multiple Renal Therapies -IHD, PD, CRRT and Apheresis (preferred).
· Provide Specialty Nephrology care in different settings (ICU, ACCC/ER, and more).
· Provide lifesaving care during regularly scheduled and on-call shifts. Daily schedule may change depending on patient needs.
· The RN will demonstrate leadership when providing nursing care and serve as a role model when assigned as charge nurse under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or designee.
· Participates in established quality improvement studies and/or activities.
· The Nursing care provided is under the direction of MDACC Policies and compliance and Dialysis department SOPs in accordance with AAMI, TJC CMS, federal, state, and local regulations.
· Responsible for displaying MDACC culture through core values and customer service standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Day to day work includes deskwork, computer work and interaction with patients, hospital staff and physicians.
· Requires on-call rotation.
· The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels.
· There is potential exposure to potentially infectious material and contagious diseases/material.
· The position delivers direct patient care, which regularly involves heavy lifting, moving of patients, and assisting with ambulation (equipment aids and coworkers may provide assistance).
· It requires prolonged periods of standing, the ability to bend, to move machines and dialysis equipment > 200 lbs., and may lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. up as high as 5 feet.

REQUIREMENTS
Education Required Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Education Preferred Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.
Experience Required None.
Experience Preferred Two years relevant clinical nursing experience.
Licensure/Certification Required Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification if working in the following department: Nrsg Post Anesthesia Care Unit (600160).
Licensure/Certification Preferred Certification in oncology or specialty practice area.
Other Required All clinical nurses with less than one year registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.

Education:
Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.
Experience: Must have graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing, current Texas RN license. Minimum of 1 year of RN experience.
Highly Preferred Experience: 12 months or more of Dialysis RN experience.
Licensure/Certification:
Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Highly Prefer Certification: Dialysis certification or show verification of certification application (must be passed within 1 yr. of employment)
