Clinical Nurse – PreOp/PACU/TPACU (Night Shift)

Working in the Transition Post Anesthesia Care Unit (TPACU) at MD Anderson means being part of a collaborative, high-acuity team that supports patients through critical surgical transitions—all within a world-class cancer center committed to excellence, innovation, and compassionate care.

Position Overview
This role offers the opportunity to rotate across PreOp, PACU, and TPACU units during night shifts. Ideal for experienced Nurse who excel in critical care environments and value teamwork, adaptability, and evidence-based practice.

Ideal Candidate Experience
o    At least five years of experience in Critical Care, PACU, or PreOp
o    Comfortable rotating across all three units
o    Strong critical thinking and collaboration skills

Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM 

Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $32.69 - Midpoint $48.56 - Maximum $64.42

EDUCATION

  • Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Nursing.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience in Critical Care, PACU, or PreOp

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license. Upon Hire and
  • Required: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire and
  • Required: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support If working in the following department: Nrsg Post Anesthesia Care Unit (600160). Upon Hire
  • Preferred: OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification Upon Hire
  • Preferred: Certification in specialty practice area. Upon Hire

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
