Financial Analyst - Internal Medicine, Clinical
The primary purpose of the Financial Analyst position is to apply professional accounting principles and techniques and coordinate accounting/financial business analysis and reporting for the Division of Internal Medicine (DoIM). This position is responsible for operational efficiency, business effectiveness and compliance of the broad spectrum of clinical and research components within the DoIM. Providing skilled accounting and financial analysis expertise to all departments within the division.
Ideal candidate will have experience working with OBIEE, PeopleSoft FSCM, and myHR. They should be proficient in Microsoft Office—particularly Excel and PowerPoint—and possess strong financial knowledge, with the ability to produce, interpret, and analyze financial reports.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Financial Operations and Analysis
Financial Reconciliation for Financial Controls Develop, implement, and monitor processes to ensure that all Division of Internal Medicine revenue and expenses are captured appropriately and ensure sufficient documentation exists to support the transactions.
Research documentation issues to provide recommendations for accurate document compliance guidelines as appropriate.
Coordinates annual preparation and submission of fiscal budgets under Division of Internal Medicine and coordinates with all the departments and sections to prepare for budget supporting data and documentation. Collaborates with the Department Administrators, Clinical Administrative Directors, and all pertinent faculty and staff to review prior year expenses, revenue projections, budget revisions, etc. and to assist with developing the budget. Prepares projections for revenue and expenses by utilizing and analyzing departmental, divisional, and institutional data. Service as a resource to Division and Department partners.
Prepares weekly and monthly financial monitoring and reconciliation reporting in compliance with financial controls requirements.
Performs a quality review of selected financial reports before they are disseminated. Initiates contact with departmental representatives, other agencies or personnel to resolve problems or questions regarding accounting/finance related data items.
Prepares departmental responses for institutional reports detailing variances and opportunities.
Financial Reporting and Fiscal Management
Prepares the monthly financial reports. Produces chart and graphs information based on data extracted from institution financial systems.
Performs a quality review of selected financial reports before they are disseminated.
Presents to and trains Department Chairs and Department Administrators, faculty members and mid-level providers, and department personnel on financial reporting activities.
Maintain up-to-date data and information for Divisional reports and provider productivity.
Identify trends and shifts in billing and expense practices and researches/reports to leadership as appropriate.
Financial Reconciliation for Financial Controls

EDUCATION
- Required: Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or related business specialty.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: 2 years Business experience to include project management, data analysis or accounting.
