Food Service Worker - Dining Services
The Food Service Worker will be assigned to Chick-Fil-A at the main campus of MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Texas Medical Center.
The shift will be Monday - Friday 11am to 8pm, with no weekends and no holidays required.
Dining Services offers eight unique dining venues spread across the Texas Medical Center, an exceptional on-sight catering department, and two coffee bars located in The Woodlands and West Houston. We strive to make meaningful experiences with each and every guest that visits one of our locations or attends one of our catered events.
Our menus incorporate customizable flavors that highlight our healthy options and showcase our culinary talent in every meal. From homestyle classics to pizza, soups, pop-up specials, grilled favorites and our recently expanded gluten free/friendly options, we have something for everyone. We feature a bountiful variety of quality healthful snacks and bottled beverages in all of our cafés, coffee shops and convenience stores.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $17.00 - Midpoint $19.08 - Maximum $21.15

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
Portion Control: Serve food to customers according to portion control standard. Perform simple food preparation by following the established written recipes.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors and employees by assisting with food selections, providing explanations and offering directions, taking trays and assisting wheel chair patients to a table. Maintain good working rapport with co-workers and other departmental personnel.
Inventory Management: Check and replenish food, paper goods, and eating utensils. Market food items in the venue by displaying/arranging them in an appetizing and appealing manner. Maintain daily computerized unit work order sheets by physically writing a record of food items received/prepared as well as the amount of food items remaining after each meal period.
Sanitation and Safety: Clean tables and chairs in eating area. Maintain trash receptacles. Ensure proper food temperatures by using a food thermometer to verify temperatures, by visually reading and physically recording them at specified intervals during the serving period. Maintain assigned work areas in a clean and sanitary condition. Use and care for all equipment items. Clean spills on floor.
May be moved to new locations and/or shifts as operations dictate. Cross training may also involve shift changes.
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Previous fast food experience would be a plus.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Must obtain a current Texas Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of entry into job.
