The mission of The University of Texas M. D. The primary purpose of the HIM Associate position is to process, retrieve, track and maintain documents associated with the management of health information.


JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES                                      

Key Function #1  Ability to retrieve, prep, scan index, quality check documents and distribute the work assignments as needed.


Key Function #2  Completes, submits and monitors personal productivity data in a timely and accurate manner to make sure associate is within standards. Ensures appropriate utilization of work time and ability to efficiently meet the needs of the customers; Responsible for handling all tasks thoroughly, and in a time manner. 


Key Function #3   Express ideas clearly and concisely in groups and one-to-one conversations; create an environment with open channels of communication.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education: 2 Year College Degree
Certification: None
Preferred Certification: RHIT

Experience: Four years of general office experience to include one year of medical records experience. With preferred Associates degree, two years of general office experience.  With preferred Bachelor’s degree, no experience required.

Preferred Experience: Production experience in Prep, Scan, Indexing, and Quality Control

Onsite Presence: Is Required
