The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.

Ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of customer service experience.  Must be willing to work 5:30am - 2:00pm (varied days) including rotating weekends and holidays. 

Function:  Responsible for providing information to internal and external customers utilizing institutional resources including the patient care management system, telecommunications systems and other institutional systems.

Scope:  Impacts the quality and efficiency of telecommunications services.

Essential Job Functions:  Provides information and directions to internal and external customers.  Extracts patient appointment information and schedules utilizing the patient CARE management system and other institutional database systems.  Provides screenings for infectious respiratory conditions and child visitation registrations.  Provides personal concierge service.  Collects activity information for all Information Desks.   Provides prompt and courteous service to individuals experiencing Personal Care Events in Public Areas as outlined in the Personal Care Events in Public Spaces Policy CLN1052.

Marginal Job Functions:  Other duties assigned.



Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:  Associate's degree in Communications or related field.  Bilingual in Spanish.


Required: Two years of experience answering multiple telephone lines, responding to customer inquiries or related experience.

Preferred:  Health care experience.


Required: Must pass a pre-employment test as required and administered by Human Resources.
