SUMMARY: 

Intended for individuals who have completed a 3-year hematology/oncology fellowship. The primary responsibility of the scholars will be research and teaching.

 

ESTENTIAL DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Characteristic Duties:

I.                Clinical

A.      Shows evidence of competence in clinical care and performance.

B.      Shows promise of developing a unique role in patient care services

 

II.              Administration/Service

A.      Shows promise for institutional administrative service.

  

III.              Research 

A.    Shows promise of ability to carry out collaborative research & participate in team science 

B.    Actively engage in research and scholarly activity to enhance the academic environment of the department. 

a.      Develop programs of research and scholarly activities in keeping with the goals of the Sarcoma research program.  Requires the ability to synthesize a myriad of information pertaining to the area of research.  May necessitate (orally and in writing) instructing staff and support personnel in protocol design and analysis.  

b.     Seek appropriate funding mechanisms to support research.  Will require completion of grant application forms, as well as budget development.

c.      Contribute to the literature in the field of expertise by publishing original research in peer-reviewed journals.  

IV. Education/Teaching

A.    Shows promise as an educator and mentor.

 

V.  Service

 A.  Shows promise for internal and external service.

Licensed to practice in Texas and board eligible

Doctorate-level degree in a field appropriate to

                  Faculty role
