Instructor, Research Faculty Appointment (RFA), Breast Medical Oncology
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
RESEARCH – 90%
•Will design and execute laboratory experiments to perform high quality hypothesis driven cancer research, discuss research with faculty members in the department, participate in department and institution seminar courses and present at weekly lab meetings.
•Will attend and present in the Department Translational Breast Cancer Research Laboratory seminar series and Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Meeting.
•Must be self-motivated, conscientious and a team player.
•Requires maintaining meticulous record of experimental data and protocols. Will use computer analysis to provide slides and graphs of data.
•The candidate needs to have critical thinking abilities, excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills are required.
•Must follow institutional safety standards and comply with institutional regulations.
•Will publish in peer reviewed scholarly journals, will participate in presentations at meetings and apply for peer-reviewed grant funding from government or private agencies.
•Will attend and present at national conferences on targeted therapeutics and breast cancer, including the AACR annual meeting and San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.
EDUCATION/TEACHING – 10%
•Participate in the training of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research assistants in their research projects.
•Supervise and train assigned laboratory personnel in proper research procedures, data analysis, and data compilation.
This position has a target base salary of $65,000 to $80,000 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.
