Laboratory Technician supports research and testing activities by performing a variety of laboratory procedures, maintaining equipment and work areas, and ensuring accuracy and quality in all technical processes. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently or as part of a research team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory techniques and a solid understanding of scientific principles. They should demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow established protocols accurately. The candidate should work well both independently and as part of a team, maintaining a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.
The hours are 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday

Conduct Laboratory Testing and Analyses
Perform laboratory procedures such as sample preparation, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR reactions, and other analytical tests with accuracy and minimal supervision.
Record and interpret results to support ongoing research or diagnostic activities.
Maintain Laboratory Operations and Equipment
Prepare and maintain laboratory spaces, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with aseptic and safety standards.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
Manage Data and Documentation
Accurately record, label, and store samples and data.
Enter and organize information in electronic databases or spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
Support Quality Control and Compliance
Follow established quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
Assist in implementing and maintaining safety and regulatory standards within the laboratory.
EDUCATION
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate’s Degree
Strongly Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field
EXPERIENCE
Required: One year in a clinical medical laboratory or similar setting
Required: No experience necessary with preferred degree
