Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Five years clinical nursing experience in oncology or assigned specialty practice area to include two years teaching experience. With preferred degree, three years clinical nursing experience in oncology or assigned specialty practice are to include two years teaching experience. Current State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN). Applies educational and technical knowledge to create and present instructional materials using effective adult learning, education and training methodology. Tailors program delivery to audiences based on educational need, skill level and learning style. Assists with the implementation and evaluation of instructional materials and revises them using evaluation data. Collaborates with clinical nurses, managers and other members of the health care team to plan and evaluate educational interventions. Develops presentations and publications to educate healthcare professionals. Documents the teaching/learning process and outcomes in accordance with standards. Integrates knowledge of staff development standards, principles of oncology practice, age-specific care needs, institutional goals and standards and current professional practice standards in the design of education programs. Develops objectives of educational programs and serves as expert on complex patient care issues.
