 SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the position is to plan, execute, and monitor administrative operations for the Pediatrics - Patient Care department to ensure operations are performed in a timely manner, with high quality and within institutional institutional and departmental guidelines. 

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Administrative Operations Management  Organizes and manages the day-to-day operations for the administrative functions of the department including meeting and travel coordination, budget management, expense reimbursement, purchasing, leave and timekeeping, asset management, facilities planning and management, IT support, and policy/process development. Create standard operating procedures for administrative staff to ensure higher quality of performance. Manage, coach and develop administrative staff to a higher standard of efficiency.

 

 

 

 

Faculty and Trainee Relations  -Coordinates administrative functions for the recruitment, visa processing, appointment, credentialing, clinical service scheduling, and appraisal of faculty and trainees to also include faculty promotion and tenure processing. 
-Provides information and guidance to faculty and trainees on institutional policies and processes that govern administrative functions such as travel and expense reimbursement, people management, institutional and billing compliance, leave administration, etc.

Human Resource Coordination   -Coordinates personnel actions for classified staff promotions, demotions, transfers, merits, and employment terminations.
-Recruits, selects, trains and supervises all administrative support staff.  Ensures administrative staff adhere to institutional policies and procedures for administrative functions.
-Supports departmental managers to facilitate the recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of all classified personnel.  Processes requests for new/replacement positions, determines position funding, develops and/or maintains position descriptions, etc.
-Facilitates compliance for all employees to institutional requirements for training, conflict of interest, performance evaluation, attendance, etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospital/Healthcare Administration or related field. Four years of experience in a professional/administrative capacity, to include two years experience in a supervisory capacity in any field. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
