The Medical Oncology unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center specializes in Phase One Clinical Trials, telemetry and internal medicine. It is a 48 bed unit.

 

The shift for this position is considered day/evening. This means you must be able to work a combination of 8 and 12 hour shifts. 7a-3pm or 3pm-11pm and the 12-hour shift is 7a-7pm. You also must be able to work at least two weekends out of the month.

 
SUMMARY
 

Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.

 

Scope Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

Essential Job Functions
 

Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs.  Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs.  Updates and retrieves patient information.  Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. 

 

Acts as part of an assigned care team.


EDUCATION:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.  


Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
