Patient Care Technician - Head & Neck/Breast Surgery Inpatient Unit
Patient Care Technician positions at MD Anderson Cancer Center are vital to supporting patient care in the Head & Neck/Plastics Reconstruction unit. This specialized unit provides nursing care to patients with complex needs, including airway management, microvascular flap monitoring, and wound care. Team members in this unit play an important role in ensuring patient safety and comfort while working in a dynamic and challenging environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably experience in direct patient care or an acute care setting. Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.
Minimum $18.27 – Midpoint $22.84 – Maximum $27.40 per hour based on a 40-hour work week. The typical work schedule includes day/evening shifts with rotating weekends and holidays required. Shifts may include 7am–7pm, 7am–3pm, 3pm–11pm, or evening/nights 7pm–7am or 3pm–11pm depending on availability. Work location: Onsite.

Responsibilities
• Act as a member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobilization, admission/discharge processes, and obtaining vital signs
• Update and retrieve patient information accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment
• Participate as part of an assigned care team
• Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: None
- Preferred: Experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Preferred: CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant Upon Hire
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
