Our Perioperative Services team is dedicated to creating the safest surgical environment in the world, achieving the highest quality outcomes, and upholding our core values of caring, integrity, and discovery. Working in collaboration with Anesthesiology and Critical Care, the Division of Nursing, and the Division of Surgery, this multidisciplinary team supports more than 15,000 surgical cases annually in over 30 state-of-the-art operating rooms spanning the Main Building and Mays Clinic.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Patient Care Technician/Nursing Assistant to join our Perioperative Services team.

Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Requirements
:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Stable work experience.
  • Preferred experience in critical care and/or procedural settings as a Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant.
  • Open to on-call and weekend shifts
  • Please note: Patients are under anesthesia, so there is little to no patient interaction or need to check vital signs.
  • Must pass a pre-employment skills test administered by Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Room Preparation: Clean, mop, and sanitize operating rooms before and after surgeries.
  • Assisting Procedures: Support nurses during procedures such as bronchoscopy, cystoscopy, and endoscopy.
  • Patient Transport: Safely transport patients using stretchers and wheelchairs.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the caregiving team to optimize patient care and ensure smooth workflows.
  • Resource Management: Collect and organize supplies efficiently and participate in cost-saving strategies.

  • Teamwork: Communicate constructively, recognize team contributions, and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Operational Excellence: Demonstrate knowledge of cost management and ensure all supplies and equipment are properly utilized and stored.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
 
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
