Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse. Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care. 

 

GI Surgical/Sarcoma Unit is a 32 bed unit that is a post-operative, medical-surgical unit.  Our patient population ages is from 18 – 80 years of age.


Ideal candidate will have one year of direct patient care. This is a Eveing/Night shift which will consist of  3p-11p, 11p-7a, 7p-7a with rotating weekends and holidays.

SUMMARY

Function Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.

Scope Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

Essential Job Functions Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.

Marginal Job Functions Other duties as assigned.

 

 

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
