SUMMARY
The Patient Services Coordinator at our Northwest Houston Diagnostic Imaging Center plays a critical role on the care team by ensuring smooth and efficient patient scheduling, coordination, and communication. This position serves as a key resource for patients, families, physicians, and clinical staff—helping navigate appointments, procedures, diagnostic testing, and financial processes. This role also supports the maintenance and accuracy of patient records and appointment templates.
Shift/ Hours: Monday – Friday 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Communication & Interaction
Greet patients, family members, faculty, and staff upon arrival with professionalism and warmth.
Monitor patients in waiting areas and assist with questions or needs.
Provide accurate information regarding appointments and preparations for Diagnostic Imaging (DI) procedures; supply printed instructions as needed.
Maintain strict confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
Inform patients and families of available support services.
Schedule same-day X-ray tests when necessary.
Communicate appointment details, scheduling requirements, and preparation instructions to patients, families, physicians, and clinical teams.
Support a safe environment for patients, coworkers, and visitors.
Ensure all patient wristbands contain accurate name, MRN, date of birth, and date of service.
Deliver service recovery interventions when appropriate to support a positive patient experience.
Record Maintenance
Update patient records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of all patient documentation.
Process a wide range of documents with attention to detail and accuracy.
Financial Activities
Collect, review, and reconcile patient balance payments following departmental policies.
Partner with the Financial Clearance Center (FCC) to resolve accounts requiring financial clearance.
Other Duties
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support efficient clinic operations and exceptional patient care.
