EDUCATION

Required:  Graduate from an approved program of nurse anesthesia education.

Preferred:  Doctorate (Academic)

EXPERIENCE

Required:  None

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Required:

All of the following:

Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the Council on Certification (or Recertification) of Nurse Anesthetist. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Eligible for recognition from the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.

Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.

MAY BE REQUIRED:

Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.
