JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- Meet productivity guidelines while maintaining 95% accuracy. Individual average stats must not vary 20% below the area’s average. Follow specified procedure to ensure accuracy of all doses and inventories. Visually read and interpret physician’s orders for medication and related activities along with screen and verify for allergies, interactions and duplicate therapies. Use sound judgment in contacting physicians or other health professionals regarding irregularities of orders or clarifications.
- Provide professional and appropriate counseling using OBRA guidelines. Possess up-to-date knowledge in the profession; provide technical expertise to others. Demonstrate competency of all computer systems and applications used in the area and demonstrate technical proficiency required to do the job.
- Assure delivery of correct drug to correct patient by using two patient identifiers. Follow correct inventory procedure to prevent discrepancies
- Actively participates in implementation and practice of identified clinical initiatives and other projects
- Other duties as assigned.
