Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient
Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient – 3:00p – 11:30p
Our Inpatient Pharmacy team delivers comprehensive and high-quality medication distribution services across the hospital. We manage all aspects of inpatient drug delivery — including unit dose dispensing, IV admixture preparation, and specialized systems for controlled substances and investigational drugs. We leverage advanced automation and robotic dispensing technology to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and patient safety in every step of the process.
Ideal candidate will have High School Diploma and completion of a Pharmacy Technician program. Highly Prefer at least one year of Pharmacy Technician experience. Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP)
Working Hours – Working hours will be Monday through Friday from 3:00p to 11:30p

JOB COMPETENCIES
Medication Preparation and Distribution
• Accurately and efficiently fill cart fills and first-dose medications
• Accurately and efficiently pull medications to refill controlled access cabinets
• Accurately and efficiently deliver medications and supplies to designated areas
• Accurately and efficiently prepare all types of sterile products, including:
o Small Volume Parenterals (SVP)
o Large Volume Parenterals (LVP)
o Chemotherapy
o Biotherapy
o Investigational agents
• Accurately and efficiently prepare high-risk sterile products
• Accurately and efficiently prepare extemporaneous compounds
• Accurately and efficiently repackage bulk medications
2. Specialized Areas of Expertise
• Demonstrates proficiency in two or more specialized areas while meeting accuracy and productivity standards, including:
o Hazardous and investigational sterile compounding
o High-risk sterile compounding
o Operating Room (OR) satellite services
o Critical care and pediatric pharmacy support
o Inventory control
o Controlled substance vault operations
o Non-sterile compounding
o Medication ordering and receiving
o Tech-check-tech certification
3. Inventory Management
• Accurately and efficiently order medications and supplies
• Accurately and efficiently receive and restock medications and supplies
• Complete cycle counts and inventory audits accurately and efficiently
• Remove expired or soon-to-expire medications in a timely manner
• Ensure medication security and accountability at all times
• Monitor inventory and supply levels; notify appropriate personnel of shortages and/or outages

EDUCATION
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred: Associate's Degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: None
- Preferred: At least one year of Pharmacy Technician experience
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Required: PHTR - Reg Pharmacy Technician Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP). Upon Hire or
- Required: PHI - Pharmacist Intern License with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP). Upon Hire
- Preferred: CPHT - Certified Pharmacy Technician Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
