As a Principal Application Systems Analyst in Enterprise Dev & Integration, you will serve as a technical architect and thought leader, guiding enterprise‑level solutions that power secure data integration, workflow automation, and digital transformation across the institution.

**The deal candidate will have 7-10 years of IT experience and at least 5 years of Service Now experience.**

Summary

The Principal Applications Systems Analyst provides technical leadership in application solution development, system integration, database design, and enterprise architecture. Serving as a technical or team lead, this position supports secure web‑based data collection, integration, and reporting across complex multi‑system environments. This role also functions as the technical architect for the ServiceNow platform, ensuring scalability, security, compliance, and alignment with institutional best practices.

 

Major Work Activities

Analysis & System Design

  • Design integration patterns for external systems using ServiceNow Integration Hub, SOAP, REST, and standard integration protocols.
  • Design and maintain overall platform architecture, including MID servers, discovery, event management, ITSM, ITOM, and SecOps modules.
  • Define platform management policies, including:
    • Development best practices
    • Upgrade/patching guidelines
    • Code quality standards
    • Release calendar management
  • Develop regression and testing strategies using tools such as ServiceNow Automated Testing Framework.
  • Establish data analytics and reporting strategies using native ServiceNow tools or external tools (e.g., Snow Mirror).

Application/Systems Development & Support

  • Serve as a ServiceNow architect lead with experience in ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, or related modules.
  • Define integrations and data models supporting enterprise workflows.
  • Apply technical knowledge in Java, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, LDAP/Active Directory, networking, and database administration.
  • Identify business objectives and develop outcome‑focused technology roadmaps.
  • Work within Agile and ITIL frameworks to support enterprise development and operations.
  • Provide technical and architectural consultation to service leads.
  • Escalate platform issues related to capacity, compliance, or architecture to the Center of Excellence (CoE) engagement lead.

Documentation

  • Track all platform development and administration activities, including:
    • Platform ticket resolution
    • Backlog implementation aligned with priorities
    • Resource provisioning for strategic initiatives
    • Maintaining platform health (performance, security)
  • Present architectural guidance for strategic initiatives such as upgrades, new modules, and custom solutions.

Mentoring Others

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and oversight to ServiceNow developers and administrators.
  • Promote best practices in architecture, integration, and code quality across the team.

Other Duties

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Master's Degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Administration or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 7 years In progressive software systems implementation and support, business systems process analysis and design, Epic software, or domain to include two years lead/supervisory experience
  • May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
  • Preferred: 7-10 years of IT experience and at least 5 years of Service Now experience. 

Preferred Certification: ServiceNow Implementation Specialist in at least two of the following areas: CAD, CSA, ITSM, ITOM, ITBM or SecOps. Additionally working towards certified Master Architect or Certified Technical Architect roles is preferred.
