The primary purpose of the Principal Business Intelligence Analyst position is to derive business intelligence and develop strategic business plans leveraging insights from large volume healthcare data using AI enabled business intelligence technology, modeling, and healthcare domain knowledge and business analysis to support various initiatives for the MD Anderson Cancer Center.

The role focus in on-time delivery of planned and ad-hoc requests from external and internal clients. The Principal Analyst will plan projects, manage client expectations and continuously optimize the business models for faster, feasible and quality deliverables.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS

 

Clinical and Operations

Knowledge Lead discussions with clinical, operations and analytics teams to gather, validate, document, and present operations metrics, clinical understanding, and trend studies to ensure accuracy and timeliness of Dashboard. Guide Cancer Network members with the standardized data definitions and structured ways by which the data can be exported. Explore technology solutions to streamline data transfer, validations, visualizations, and other bottlenecks. Empower leadership with the metrics for strategizing and catalyzing the impact of market growth for UT System. Able to comprehend the process flow for different disease site pathways and guide analysts to incorporate this knowledge towards their strategic business analysis.

 

Business Intelligence

Lead/conduct strategic business intelligence utilizing AI-driven solutions to mine and analyze large volumes of data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into AI models and algorithms. Design and implement data-driven solutions to address complex business problems. Utilize advanced data mining techniques to extract insights and patterns from structured and unstructured data. and publish results as presentations and reports. The analysis includes but not limited to study of service line programs, market dynamics, competition, forecast scenarios and make strategic recommendations. Collaborate findings with internal and external customers for feedback and approvals. Leverage published data from open and paid sources. Utilize technologies, healthcare domain knowledge, Business Intelligence Tools, Visual Analytics, Excel and other applications to develop reports, business plans and other deliverables. All deliveries based on agreed upon/negotiated timelines.

 

Quality Control and Subject Matter

Expertise Lead or assist in quality control of strategic market research deliverables by thoroughly reviewing the data, methods and results and ensure that output bears the quality and oncology domain expertise it requires to be presented to leadership and clients. Provide constructive feedback to the team by which they can institute continuous improvement.

Provide subject matter expertise in Clinical/Research, Cancer Registry, SEER, Disease Sites and BI tools repositories like Advisory Board or Sg2.

Ability to create and modify predictive analytics modeling to forecast market demand based on disease sites, demography, providers, payer mix and other available operational and financial data.

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care or related field.

 

 

EXPERIENCE

Required: Nine years related program development or project management experience, to include five years of progressive experience in data analysis and predictive analytics.

Preferred: Experience in the healthcare industry, specifically in healthcare data analytics and project management.

 

 

TECHNOLOGY/TOOLS PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

a. Proficiency in AI and machine learning technologies.

b. Expertise in Big Data analytics tools and techniques.

c. Experience with database management systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL.

d. Proficient in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

e. Familiarity with complex dashboard creation and management.

 

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

Required: None.

Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP)
