The Strategic Intelligence Principal Analyst supports data-driven strategy development by conducting deep-dive analyses, modeling scenarios, and synthesizing market and competitive intelligence to inform executive-level strategic decisions. This role works closely with the Director, Strategic Intelligence and in partnership with the Decision Intelligence team to forecast trends, evaluate opportunities, support new initiatives, and build strategic recommendations that advance institutional priorities and investment decisions. Success in this role is defined by the clarity, rigor, and actionability of strategic recommendations delivered to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate brings experience in healthcare strategy or consulting, decision intelligence, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to translate complex and imperfect information into compelling executive-level narratives that guide strategic alignment and decision-making.

KEY FUNCTIONS

·         Leads the development of original and complex analytic frameworks and models using quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external healthcare data sources and tools to solve complex business problems and support the decision-making for strategic, clinical, financial, and /or operational improvements.

·         Uses depth of expertise to assess assumptions, identify, retrieve, and analyze data, develop complex models, evaluate strategic tradeoffs and assumptions to support decisions/provide recommendations on high impact strategic and business opportunities of large scope and impact to the organization.

·         Conduct comprehensive market, competitive, policy, and environmental analyses (including market share, competitor strategies, payer mix, and demographic trends) to assess external forces shaping strategic decisions. Support business case development, market and service line assessments, and scenario modeling by forecasting growth, evaluating strategic options, and projecting potential impact to the institution.

·         Analyze and synthesize insights from complex and multi-source data sources into clear, actionable recommendations delivered through executive-ready presentations, decision briefs, and concise strategic summaries that guide decision-making.

·         Identify, structure, and address complex or ambiguous strategic questions by developing analytical frameworks and formulating actionable recommendations for leadership.

·         Contribute strategic input to the design of new initiatives by defining objectives, success metrics, and performance considerations, and by supporting leadership with planning and alignment activities.

·         Develop high-impact strategy materials, including presentations and executive briefings that effectively communicate key insights, options and recommendations.

·         Ensure data integrity, consistency, and analytical rigor across all models, reports, and deliverables.

·         Ensure analytical rigor by documenting assumptions, limitations, and risks, and by partnering with the Decision Intelligence team to leverage validated data sources.

 

EDUCATION

             Required: Bachelor's Degree Business, Health Care or related field.

             Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, MS Analytics, or similar).

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

             Required: Nine years related program development or project management experience, to include five years of progressive experience in data analysis and predictive analytics.

             Preferred: Experience in healthcare strategy consulting or in strategic planning, decision intelligence, business development, or corporate strategy role within a healthcare organization. Oncology experience is preferred.

o             Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities with the demonstrated ability to independently structure ambiguous problems and solve complex challenges.

o             Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills; demonstrated comfort presenting to executive leaders.

o             Highly motivated, resourceful, and comfortable navigating ambiguity with minimal oversight.

o             Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects efficiently.

o             Proficiency in data and analytics tools such as Microsoft Suite, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or similar preferred

o             Experience with healthcare market data tools (Sg2, Vizient, Advisory Board, Definitive Healthcare, NCI SEER, National Cancer Database, etc.) strongly preferred.
