Principal EHR Systems Analyst - EHR Cadence
The Principal EHR Systems Analyst -EHR Cadence serves as the primary application support contact within the Clinical Access Revenue System Department, partnering closely with leadership, information technology analysts, and operational stakeholders. The Principal Electronic Health Record Systems Analyst EHR Cadence leads complex design decisions, ensures consistent implementation of system standards, and coordinates communication across hospital departments to support effective access and revenue workflows. This role plays a critical part in aligning Epic Cadence functionality with institutional goals while supporting patient access, safety, and operational excellence.
The Principal Electronic Health Record Systems Analyst EHR Cadence supports this mission by optimizing electronic health record capabilities to enable seamless patient access, accurate scheduling, and reliable revenue system performance. Through collaboration, governance participation, and system leadership, the Principal Electronic Health Record Systems Analyst EHR Cadence contributes to enterprise-wide technology solutions that support high-quality cancer care.
The ideal candidate is Cadence certified, demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills, and has the ability to translate complex operational and clinical needs into technical solutions. The candidate is expected to obtain and maintain required Epic certifications, manage complex system builds, and provide mentorship and subject matter expertise across multidisciplinary teams.
Minimum $123,000 – Midpoint $154,000 – Maximum $185,000 per hour based on a 40-hour work week
Work Location: Remote within Texas only.

Responsibilities
Standards, Testing & Governance
• Develop and adhere to standard operating procedures and maintain Epic build standards with appropriate signoff.
• Follow institutional best practices, policies, procedures, and information systems standards.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for system enhancements and new technology implementations.
• Follow change control processes and perform change control audits as needed.
• Conduct quality control and testing and review analyst build for technical soundness.
• Oversee Epic updates and new releases for assigned modules.
• Partner with leadership to ensure consistent application of standards across the system.
• Provide clinical expertise for build and testing standards when applicable.
Build, Content Management & System Configuration
• Implement and manage complex system changes and projects while proactively communicating with end users.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Epic electronic health record build.
• Modify Epic content as directed by project teams and governance bodies.
• Lead and participate in implementation and optimization initiatives.
• Analyze system configuration with a focus on patient safety and risk mitigation.
• Perform high-risk and complex system maintenance activities.
• Oversee routine build work and support achievement of build metrics.
• Manage multiple projects, integrated teams, and complex problem resolution.
• Prepare and present status reports for leadership.
• Provide expert technical leadership for system design and development.
Support & Operations
• Provide customer support and problem resolution, including safety and incident events.
• Respond to requests in a timely manner and communicate expectations for service delivery and project milestones.
• Participate in after-hours application support and downtime procedures.
• Apply technical and workflow knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
• Mentor staff and enhance team knowledge of assigned applications.
• Coordinate issue resolution with Epic technical support.
• Translate clinical communication into technical changes when applicable.
Liaison, Leadership & Business Knowledge
• Collect, analyze, and prioritize enhancement requests and workflow improvement opportunities.
• Manage liaison relationships with customers and OneIS partners.
• Collaborate with analysts to build technical and operational knowledge of business processes.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, quality standards, and best practices.
• Participate in meetings, workgroups, and committees as required.
• Coach and provide guidance and feedback to team members.
• Serve as a team lead and may have direct reports.
• Participate in employee performance evaluation processes when assigned.

EDUCATION
- Required: Bachelor's Degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: 7 years Relevant healthcare information technology experience.
- May substitute required education with years of related experience on a one to one basis.
- May substitute up to two years of clinical experience or relevant business experience for relevant healthcare information technology experience.
- Preferred: Cadence certified, experience leading EHR initiatives/projects, customer engagement experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Required: EPIC - EPIC Certification within 180 Days
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
