The primary purpose of the Program Coordinator position is to plan, coordinate, implement and follow-up on Laboratory Safety programs, including notification to safety specialists and administrative staff regarding supplies and equipment, document and data entry in support of the Laboratory Safety group and other assigned compliance efforts. Enter data from other assigned compliance initiatives on risk prevention, loss control, maintenance functions, and interagency documents.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Software Maintenance 1. Use Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to process requests including: asset record updates, work order generation, maintenance scheduling, and closing. This includes ensuring information is documented, updated and Institutional guidelines are adhered to. Additionally, assists in Maximo compliance initiatives. 2. Use EHS Assistant to maintain data integrity including: asset record updates, work order update, scheduling, reporting and closing. This includes ensuring information is documented, updated and Institutional guidelines are adhered to. Additionally, assists in EHS Assistant compliance initiatives. 3. Create database compliance and trend reports. Design data dashboards for Environmental Health Safety to visually track and analyze key performance indicators, and metrics. 4. Coordinates, maintains, and updates Laboratory Safety projects on the MD Anderson intranet within the SharePoint sites.

Regulatory Compliance and Support 1. Works to ensure regulatory compliance by conducting historical records searches, maintaining compliance reports, keeping appraised of compliance processes and activities, and be a resource of communicating the compliance needs on risk prevention, loss control, and interagency documents to the necessary parties.

Program Support 1. Performs in-depth analyses of workflows and as assigned, assists the staff to streamline and improve efficient processes. 2. Serve as a backup content editor for the Laboratory Safety Web page for the Environmental Health Safety intranet. 3. Represents Laboratory Safety in department Environmental Health and Safety events and or coordinates Laboratory Safety team support for events. 8. Other duties as assigned. A requirement of this position is to be competent and expected to enter data into mobile devices while working away from your workstation, where wi-fi is available. In areas where wi-fi is not available, data is expected to be entered or uploaded at the earliest opportunity.”

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field. Education preferred: Master's degree. 

Experience Required:  Three years project/program coordination experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, one year of required experience. 

Experience Required:  Proficient in Maximo and Teams

This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening.
