The Section of Geriatrics within General Internal Medicine is looking for a self-motivated, team player to join their staff. The ideal candidate will have three years project/program experience in supporting faculty in a clinical environment.

 

Summary

The Program Coordinator will direct the operation, valuate and coordinate the clinical and business services processes for the Section of Geriatrics within the Department of General Internal Medicine.  Impacts the equitable clinical and administrative operation supporting the clinical programs, development of detailed clinical objectives, assignments and implementation of clinical policies in direct support to the Section of Geriatrics and the subspecialties comprised within the clinical and business service.

Key Functions

  • Maintains clinical objectives and policies in direct support to the Section of Geriatrics specific to the clinical program and services.
  • Back-Up Open Tempo clinical scheduling, w/ particular focus on diverse outpatient business needs
  • Coordinate and assist the Section Chief in the planning and operation of the subspecialty
  • Gather operational data for the outpatient Clinics; assist with identification of opportunities to build upon existing, and to initiate new clinic initiatives.
  • Gathers financial data for clinical sections reporting.  Monitors program allocations. 
  • Coordinate and manage DOIM Grand Rounds Speakers for the department.
  • Document adherence and compliance with various departmental, division, institutional, financial, and regulatory metrics, in collaboration with department management team.
  • Initiate and maintain the departmental clinical sections and Quality Assurance Standard of Operating Procedure (SOP) Manuals.
  • Coordinates and assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Department Risk Management compliance program.
  • Provide administrative and financial support to assigned faculty and staff.  This may include travel arrangements, travel reimbursement, tracking and monthly reporting of faculty PRS spending, calendar management, correspondence composition, CV and FIS maintenance, journal article and manuscript preparation and proofing.
  • Facilitates all components necessary for project initiation, implementations, and completion.
  • Back-Up the SharePoint applications, as the department SharePoint Site Administrator.
  • Collaborates with the Department of Medical Graphics and Photography and Marketing to create marketing material for programs.
  • Develops and maintains an extensive filing and evaluation system to track the progression and success of programs.
  • Verify compliance with Institutional requirements, guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of clinical competency completion.
  • Oversees the design, creative content and production of both internal and external Web content.
  • Use independent judgment and complex analysis to gather facts and determine appropriate solutions generally based on past experience and department practice.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.

Education preferred: Master's degree.

EXPERIENCE: Three years project/program coordination experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.
