The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.

This position will be responsible for working independently and under the guidance of the VP, and Director of Administration, to support the development, planning, organizing, and execution of a wide range of operational activities. The person will also provide administration support for Division Executives.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

 

·         Project Coordination – 75%

o  Assists in the development and implementation of plans needed to carry out various divisional projects, workshops, retreats etc.

o  Prepares faculty promotion and tenure packets.

o  Prepares reports and presentations using various applications such as Power BI, Power Point, and Excel.

o  Leads the coordination of certain projects such as the Faculty Learning Series

o  Assists with review and submission of documents that require executive approval including proofreading for correctness and maintaining database.  This includes composing formal and informal correspondence.

o  Assists in creating templates to support project management and reporting to various stakeholders. Clearly communicates constraints, conflicts, requirements, and other items that could affect outcomes.

o  Maintains updates to accurately track initiatives across the division.

o  Supports and facilitates collaborations between OCR and various divisions/departments to ensure projects meet established milestones and are implemented effectively. 

 

·         Executive Support – 25%

o    Manages the schedule for Division Executives.

o    Oversees travel arrangements and reimbursements for Division Executives.

Education
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field. 

Preferred: Master’s degree

Experience
Required:
Three years project/program coordination experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.

Preferred: 5-years administrative experience to include two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity in a patient care environment.
