Program Director Cancer Health Disparities
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, healthcare administration or related field.
Preferred: Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Education, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, or related area.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five years project/program management experience to include three years supervisory experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.
Preferred:
* Direct experience in community impact, community outreach and engagement, community benefit program design and implementation, cancer prevention and control, and public health practice, public policy, media, public health and related fields.
* Proven track record of designing, implementing, and evaluating community and public health initiatives and projects that result in a measurable change, including programs targeting children, youth, and young adults.
* Experience in developing resources for community programs directly through philanthropic and grant-making organizations and with partners.
* Demonstrated experience in establishing, coordinating and collaborating with coalitions in medically underserved communities and minority populations.
* Excellent oral, written and related communications skills and competency in communications technologies.
* Firm understanding of principles of cultural competency and public health principles and practices.
* Demonstrated experience in writing for and securing government/private funding.
* Familiarity with IRB principles and processes and NIH grants and contracts language.
* Ability to speak and write well under pressure and to intelligently edit the writing of others.
* Motivational leader, confident in his/her/their own abilities, who inspires others, promotes teamwork and has financial management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with multiple, diverse constituencies.
* Willing and able to work extended and flexible hours, function under demanding circumstances.
* Computer software skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
