The Translational Molecular Pathology (TMP) department at MD Anderson Cancer Center is at the forefront of precision oncology, integrating molecular pathology, computational biology, and artificial intelligence to accelerate cancer research and improve patient care. By bringing together scientists, pathologists, clinicians, and data scientists, the department develops innovative technologies that transform pathology data into clinically meaningful insights and advance the future of personalized cancer treatment.

This Research Assistant I position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computational pathology, and cancer research. The role is ideal for an early-career researcher with an interest in AI, machine learning, computational biology, or bioinformatics who is eager to contribute to cutting-edge research with real-world clinical applications.

In this role, you will help develop and implement AI-driven technologies for digital pathology, supporting the creation and maintenance of computational methods that analyze multimodal pathology data. Working alongside an interdisciplinary team of researchers, pathologists, and computational scientists, you will contribute to projects focused on generating biologically meaningful insights and advancing the clinical translation of artificial intelligence in oncology.

You will also assist in building and maintaining computational infrastructure and analytic pipelines, while evaluating emerging AI methodologies and state-of-the-art technologies to support ongoing research initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced computational tools and contribute to innovative projects that have the potential to transform cancer diagnostics and treatment.

Collaboration is a key component of this role. You will participate in multidisciplinary research meetings, present findings during internal and external collaborations, and contribute to scientific discussions that drive the development of novel AI solutions for cancer research. Candidates who enjoy working in highly collaborative environments and learning from experts across multiple disciplines will find this role especially rewarding.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, an interest in artificial intelligence and computational pathology, and a desire to apply emerging technologies to improve cancer research and patient outcomes. Individuals who are passionate about innovation, continuous learning, and translating computational discoveries into clinical impact will thrive in this position.

MD Anderson offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including paid medical benefits, generous paid time off, retirement plans, tuition assistance, professional development opportunities, and additional benefits, along with the opportunity to launch your research career at one of the world's leading cancer centers dedicated to advancing patient care through scientific discovery, innovation, and artificial intelligence.
