Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Laboratory Functions Perform a wide range of molecular and cell biology studies, including cloning, subcloning, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, western blotting, digital PCR, real-time PCR, etc; Develop and refine experimental protocols to improve research techniques; Design projects and experiments by formulating research objectives, developing hypotheses, selecting appropriate methodologies, and establishing clear timelines, while ensuring alignment with broader scientific goals and resource availability; Ensuring coordination of animal maintenance and handling procedures with the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery; Operate and maintain scientific equipment, such as spectrophotometers, fraction collectors, chromatography systems, centrifuges, incubators, homogenizers, and microscopes; Stay current with the latest research developments by reviewing scientific literature and engaging with researchers and biotechnology companies;
  • Reporting: Prepare and present clear reports, visualizations, and summaries of findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest advancements in cancer research, bioinformatics, and lab through literature review and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other lab members to conduct research activities and actively participate in grant writing and applications with the research team. Collaborate with co-investigators to ensure alignment with the short- and long-term objectives of the pancreatic cancer group.
Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field. Five years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.
